Given the broad range of functions carried out by the Transport Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau, there are several key stakeholders involved in or affected by its work.

One of the primary stakeholders is the public, in whose interest the Bureau works to ensure the safety of railway, air, and maritime transport. This is achieved through independent investigation of accidents and incidents, as well as by ensuring the availability of information on investigation outcomes and safety recommendations aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future.

Other beneficiaries of the Bureau’s work include manufacturers and users of railway, air, and maritime transport vehicles. These stakeholders gain valuable insights from investigation findings on the causes of past transport accidents, as well as high-quality and comprehensive recommendations for preventing such accidents or incidents going forward.

Another important stakeholder group consists of institutions of the Republic of Latvia and international organizations. The Bureau represents Latvia and actively participates in the work of relevant international bodies, contributing to the implementation of international standards and best practices in accident investigation in Latvia.

The Bureau currently operates with a team of nine employees, six of whom are responsible for a broad range of investigative functions, while the remaining three perform administrative and support roles.
