On February 28, 2025, Vilis Ķipurs, Head of the Aviation Accident Investigation Division at the Transport Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau, participated in a two-day training seminar for flight instructors, pilots, and other aviation professionals, organized by the ERIVA Pilot School at the Transport and Telecommunication Institute.
During the seminar, participants discussed several current topics, including legislation, the pilot training process, updates in aviation specialist education, and aviation safety.
Vilis Ķipurs delivered a presentation titled “Lessons learned from safety investigations to improve aviation safety,” where he outlined the core principles of the safety investigation process and shared conclusions drawn from several specific investigations. The presentation emphasized how lessons learned from incidents and accidents can be used to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
