The Transport Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau is a direct administration institution under the supervision of the Minister for Transport.
The functions of the Bureau are:
- to investigate civil aviation accidents and incidents and analyse their causes;
- to investigate railway accidents and analyse their causes;
- to investigate marine casualties and incidents and analyse their causes.
The Transport Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau is headed by Director Uldis Reimanis.
