On 27 and 28 April 2026, the annual meeting of EASA, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, and CASIA, the Civil Aviation Safety Investigation Authorities, took place. Representatives of the Aviation Department of the Transport Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau (TNGIIB) also actively participated in the meeting.
The joint coordination meeting organised by EASA brought together 18 aviation safety investigation authorities. Participants had an excellent opportunity to exchange experience on ongoing investigations. Particular attention was devoted to EASA’s new projects, including the risk management concept “Top Safety Topics” (TST), issues related to conflict zones and GNSS interference, as well as the contribution of human factors to the investigation process.
EASA representatives delivered a presentation on the analysis of responses provided in the management of safety recommendations. This analysis represents an important contribution to improving cooperation and coordination throughout all stages of investigations.
The meeting was also attended by a representative of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and an aviation medical doctor from Colombia, who delivered presentations. Participants of the EASA/CASIA coordination meeting acknowledged that such meetings promote more effective cooperation and strengthen aviation safety overall.
TNGIIB expresses its gratitude to EASA colleagues for their hospitality and successful cooperation.
