Igaunijas delegācija Rīgā 2026. gada 8.aprīlis

On 8 April 2026, an interinstitutional meeting took place at the premises of the Transporta nelaimes gadījumu un incidentu izmeklēšanas birojs (TNGIIB) with the participation of Ohutusjuurdluse Keskus (the Estonian Safety Investigation Bureau).

During the meeting, TNGIIB hosted its Estonian counterparts with the aim of strengthening professional cooperation in the field of transport accident and incident investigation.

As part of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed, which will serve as a foundation for further structured cooperation, including the exchange of information, sharing of experience, and mutual support in enhancing investigation processes.

Both institutions share a common objective of promoting transport safety through independent, objective, and high-quality investigations. The meeting ensured representation across all three transport sectors—civil aviation, railway transport, and maritime transport. Discussions addressed current challenges, best practices, and opportunities for further coordinated action at the international level, while emphasizing that close interinstitutional cooperation is essential for strengthening investigative capacity and ensuring a harmonised approach to safety matters in the Baltic region.
